Terms of Service

1. Use of Petlyst

Petlyst is a pet record management service for organising health records, storing documents, managing reminders, and sharing emergency information. By creating an account, you agree to use Petlyst only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to create a Petlyst account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use Petlyst only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

You may not use Petlyst to:

• Store information about animals you do not own or have responsibility for
• Create false or misleading pet profiles or health records
• Attempt to access another user's account or data without permission
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

2. Account responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Petlyst account credentials. Do not share your password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately at support@petlyst.app.

3. Pet health records

Health records, vaccination history, medication logs, and other medical information stored in Petlyst are entered by you. Petlyst does not verify the accuracy of health records you create.

It is your responsibility to ensure that records stored in Petlyst accurately reflect your pet's health history as provided by a licensed veterinarian. Do not rely on Petlyst records as a substitute for official veterinary documentation.

4. Emergency QR sharing

When you enable Emergency QR access, a publicly accessible link is created. Anyone with this link can view a limited, non-sensitive set of fields (such as your pet's name, species, vaccination status, and the emergency vet contact you have entered). Microchip numbers and uploaded documents are never shown publicly. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information displayed.

5. Family and caregiver sharing

Petlyst Plus allows you to share your pet's records with family members (via the app) or trusted caregivers (via a browser link). By using these features you accept the following:

• You are responsible for who you grant access to and what information they can see
• Family members with shared access can view but not edit your pet's records
• Caregiver links are publicly accessible to anyone who has the URL — treat them as sensitive
• You can revoke any share or caregiver link at any time from your profile settings

Petlyst is not responsible for how shared information is used by the people you choose to share it with.

6. AI Health Assistant

The AI Health Assistant (available on Petlyst Plus) analyses your pet's existing records to generate health insights and a passport completeness score. All analysis runs on-device — no pet data is sent to an external AI service.

Insights generated by the AI Health Assistant are informational only. They are based solely on the records you have entered and may not reflect your pet's complete health picture. Do not use AI-generated insights as a substitute for professional veterinary assessment.

7. No veterinary advice

Petlyst does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or medical advice of any kind. Nothing in the service — including health score summaries, AI insights, or record fields — constitutes veterinary guidance.

Always consult a licensed veterinarian for any questions about your pet's health, medications, or treatment. In an emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic directly.

8. Petlyst Plus subscriptions

Petlyst Plus features are available via a paid subscription (monthly or yearly). Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your iOS subscription settings.

Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple's refund policy. Petlyst does not process refunds directly. Petlyst reserves the right to modify Plus pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

9. Data accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information you enter into Petlyst. Inaccurate emergency information could result in harm to your pet. Please ensure that your Emergency QR profile and emergency data reflect current, accurate information — particularly allergies, medications, and contact details.

10. Limitations

Petlyst is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times or that data will never be lost. We strongly recommend keeping copies of important veterinary documents outside of Petlyst. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Petlyst's liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Petlyst's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Petlyst will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the United States, unless applicable consumer-protection law in your place of residence requires otherwise.
